This is the searing wheel of my car. I'm sick of it looking like this. It's defective and the finish lifts off with the lightest touch. I went in to the Infinity dealer to see what could be done about it and was told that it is a common problem. That it could be "good will" repaired by Infiniti. I was told that I needed to call in and get a claim number. Great! I was happy with Infiniti. I called in and was given a case number by the operator. That's where the problems started. I felt like I was talking to a powerless individual that was programed to say no - not the representative of a luxury brand. I was told that they would not repair the scratches because there was not a recall for the part. They passed me up the food chain and I got another awful support person. Again felt like I was talking to the front desk at a Motel 6 - not a rep for a luxury brand. They told me that they had a good will budget at the corporate level AND at the dealer level but they were opting to not fix the scratches with those budgets - just because. Although it was the sort of thing that they would do with those budgets, if they chose to. Then they proceeded to interrogate me about what the dealer had said about the "good will" program. Seems as if I knew more then I should have and the corporate office did not seem to like loose lips at the dealer level. Felt like a little game of pass the buck. What kills me is the stupidity. I'm driving a 7 year old Infinity that I love. I'm likely to want another one. I'm likely to buy it pretty soon. We are talking about a $60 repair. Their cost can't be more then they spend mailing me shit asking me to come down to the dealership. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!
