Just a couple of things this week from Oliver:
1. At the Santa parade, he wanted to know where the gnomes were. (He meant elves)
2. Last night, he was eating a chicken drumstick and decided he liked the leg portion at the top better than the feet (the bony bit at the bottom)
He is so cute. I just got back from taking him to the pediatrician, where we found out that the rash on his tummy is actually shingles. He was very well-behaved and now likes to say "shingles." Now, he will probably want show his shingles to everyone.

Anniversary Card
Oliver made this great card for Amy and me for our 9th wedding anniversary. What makes it really special is that he did it at school, on his own and unprompted the day after we told him that it was our wedding anniversary.

The Assiniboine River With Ice
The Assiniboine River is a river in the prairies of western Canada. It is a typical meandering river with a single main channel embanked within a flat, shallow valley. It flows south-east from Saskatchewan to "the Forks" in Winnipeg, Manitoba into the Red River of the North. Some of the flow is diverted into Lake Manitoba at Portage la Prairie. In 1967, a dam was built in Shellmouth that controls the river's flow.

New Guitar
(this is Amy). I am out of town in Montreal for a conference. Yesterday, Marcelo bought Oliver his first guitar. It was a reward for learning to tie his shoes. Apparently 35 years or so ago, Marcelo got a harmonica when he learned to tie his shoes, and Oliver rationized that since he already had a harmonica, he now needed a guitar.
Isn't he cute?
